| The '3DZ' award |
The creators within the EAW community have special skills the
rest of us can only envy. Some skin the aircraft to give them a true
appearance. Others design new 3DZ models to create new aircraft. Then there are
those few who are adept at both skills.
This specific award is is given
to to those individuals who have created or modified many of the 3DZ models for
the aircraft of EAW.
On behalf of the EAW community, we say
thanks. |
 |
| The 'GENIE' award |
Everyone in the EAW community has a wish list. Those add-ons,
aircraft, terrains, campaigns, effects etc, that would make EAW even better
than it already is. Just once in a while someone comes along who is able to
make some of those wishes come to life.
This award is is given to to
those individuals who give of their time and skills in pushing the boundaries
of EAW one step further.
On behalf of the EAW community, we say
thanks. |
 |
| The 'EYEBALL' award |
Dedicated to those poor souls who, despite failing eyesight,
continue flying in EAW, even though they can't read the instruments, see
further than the nose of the aircraft or understand in-flight maps. Thank
goodness for EAW font patches!!
To those who fight on, we say 'S' and
award the 'Eyeball' award. |
 |
| The 'TLI' award |
Dedicated to those poor souls who, in the endless search for
perfection in all they do, reach the point of no return. That time in every
'modders' or 'skinners' life when, despite every effort and hour after hour
hour of toil, the result they seek just keeps on slipping from their grasp. So,
alone and with no-one around who understands, they clasp a pillow to their face
and in silent frustration, leap around the PC, screeching muffled
obscenities.
To those who have suffered we say 'S' and award the
'Totally Lost It' award. |
 |
| The 'KOS' award |
Dedicated to those EAW 'modders' or 'skinners' who have
suffered the constant strain of spending hour after hour in front of a PC. The
vagaries of EAW files and code, PC crashes and the endless EAW 'wish list' take
their toll. This induces incoherent speech and dribbling when offered food,
shoulders become rounded through constantly leaning over the keyboard and eyes
become glazed and bloodshot.
For sheer dedication, above and beyond the
call of reality, we award the 'Knackered Old S---' award. |
 |
| The 'MMD' award |
Most 'modders' or 'skinners' have announced that the current
project will be released soon, then realised that maybe the announcement was a
tad premature. Now comes the panic. Can it be done with enough time to left for
the kids school play, the nephews christening, the work trip away from home?
Should the 'whats happening' forum threads and E-mails be ignored?. The word is
out so it must be done.
To those who met the deadline, we award the
'Must Meet the Deadline' award. |
 |
| The 'TP' award |
There are always times for every EAW 'modder' or 'skinner' when
they wonder if someone else is working on the same project. Has all of the time
spent on research, data, base models or skins been wasted. If so, then what? Do
they go ahead and release the project anyway to an understandable lack of
response from the community. Or do they burn up every hour possible trying to
complete the project, just in case.
To those who have suffered from
this problem, we award the 'Totally Paranoid' award. |
 |
| The 'HG' award |
There are those who are users and there are those who are the
creators in EAW. The list of our 'modders' and 'skinners' is a lengthy one and
has its fair share of notables. It must be quite a step for someone new to
release a work of his/her own into such an established arena. Will the release
be accepted within the community or pushed aside as 'not worthy'. We say that
no-matter what level you are at, even the very best in EAW had to start from
nothing. Bite the bullet and go for it.
To you we award the 'Hi Guys'
award. |
 |
| The 'IBF' award |
SEAWC exists to try and prevent our 'modders' and 'skinners'
being accused of not taking due account the originators of files they have
used. This has generated threads at public forums, such as SIMHQ, which, due to
the number of replies, produces a 'flaming' icon against the thread. Hence the
term being' flamed'. Many have fallen victim, from our most prominent 'modders'
and 'skinners' to those new to the art.
To those who have been burnt,
we award the 'I've Been Flamed' award. |
 |
| The 'TAB' award |
The need to take a break is an important one. Set aside for the
'other half', the kids, your day job, the house jobs, holidays, friends, and so
on. I fact there has to be a life in the real world a well as the one in the
virtual world. You can just take a stroll for a while, or sit out in the
sunshine and relax, maybe play with the kids or go out for meal with the lady
in your life. You could even get the tools out a fix that problem with the car.
Or you could just grab a few beers and carry on regardless.
For those
who do, we award the 'Take a Break' award. |
 |
| The 'Moon' award |
There are in any community, those who for whatever reason,
refuse to enter into the spirit of things. Those who will troll posts to try to
promote unrest or confrontation, no-matter what the subject matter may be.
Those who, it seems, would rather be contentious than have a sense of humor.
Those, whom any community can do without.
For you, we award the 'Moon'
award, to which you are very welcome. |
